Indy Parks has granted permission to Play Ball Indiana to use Forest Manor Park for the newly expanded Jr. RBI program. Forest Manor Park, which is located just east of 21st St & Sherman Dr., used to be the home of Community Little League and more recently the Indy Bats travel baseball club.
Jr. RBI is a new program of Major League Baseball to reach boys and girls ages 5-12. Last year the Indianapolis Jr. RBI program consisted of six teams. So far this spring enough kids have signed up to fill 22 teams, and sign-ups will continue for another week. Close to 30 teams are anticipated this spring.
Teams will be fielded for boys and girls ages: 5-7, 8 & 9, and 10-12s.
Opening day at the park will be on Sat. May 5, and a season ending tournament will take place in late June. A neighborhood Pitch Hit & Run competition will be available free to all boys and girls ages 7-14 will take place on Sat. May 19.
